A major Peterborough fashion retailer is set to expand its business in the city.
Yours Clothing, which is headquartered in Bakewell Road, has entered into a 10-year lease on a warehouse that was once occupied by engineering giant Perkins.
Andrew Killingsworth, managing director of Yours Clothing, which has 1,391 employees and sells its plus size clothing directly to consumers in more than 100 countries, agreed terms at Orton 130 in Bakewell Road.
The new warehouse will give Yours Clothing an additional 128,567 square feet of space.
The deal was overseen by Peterborough’s commercial agents, Savills, on behalf of Paloma Capital.
William Rose, Director of Savills Peterborough, said: “Orton 130 offers a high quality warehouse in a well established commercial location.
“The building offers excellent access to the national motorway network and is ideal for Yours Clothing to serve a wide geographical spread of customers across the UK.
“Demand for large units in the region remains incredibly high which, coupled with the lack of Category A supply, means we were able to secure a strong deal on behalf of our client.”
Steve Hawkins, Partner and Head of UK Agency at Eddisons, who advised Yours Clothing, said: “We have provided Yours Clothing with commercial property advice over the past few years and have indeed acquired the premises for company originated off Bakewell Road four years ago.
“The business expansion has been a phenomenal success and the business is one of the fastest growing womenswear retailers in the UK.
“The addition of Orton 130 to the distribution side of the business will help further accelerate this expansion and is great news for Peterborough and the local economy.
Yours Clothing has been approached for a response.
News of the new warehouse lease follows years of growth for Yours Clothing, which was heralded as a prime example of the spirit needed to drive the UK’s recovery from Covid when it was appointed by the Sunday Times among the top 200 companies with the fastest growing international sales. She recently acquired iconic fashion chain Long Tall Sally.
