extending his ‘yangban’ series, korean designer jung-hoon lee continues to create furniture adorned with fashion accessories such as necklaces and earrings. before designing the units, jung-hoon lee studied the shape of props from past to present, extracting many common shapes that sparked his interest. simple spheres and straight lines were chosen for the brass, silver and rose gold-plated ornaments. the accessorized furniture collection includes the “crown _ yangban”, the “pendant _ yangban” and “the brooch _ yangban”.

the “yangban crown” takes the form of a small table adorned with earrings and decorations from the ancient eastern crown. the metallic ornaments look like earrings and are listed in a row across the front of the piece. presenting a simple composition, the unit evokes an elegant and noble atmosphere.

the “yangban _ pendant” piece has a distinctive shape reminiscent of a necklace suspended around a woman’s neck. the decorations are positioned in a shape and arrangement in the form of a necklace while the body of the table is also made of soft curves, in the form of a feminine neckline.

meanwhile, the “yangban brooch _” is a table design based on the idea of a brooch decoration attached to a garment. jung-hoon lee designed the ornaments with traditional Korean brooches in mind, and the table body was designed to be tilted, mimicking the same shape of carefully ironed clothes.

the ornaments are in brass, silver and rose gold plating, while the main body of the pieces is in white to create an elegant background for the shiny decorations. the tables are also characterized by a personified appearance that resembles a person wearing accessories as the front and back stand out clearly. with this project, the designer wanted to offer a new decorative nature by replacing the furniture with the concept of a person decorated with accessories.
