Saint Laurent: 5 fashion trends that will shape next winter

Wednesday April 28, Saint Laurent presented its Fall / Winter 2021-2022 collection named Where the silver wind blows, which was broadcast on all of its digital platforms. Throughout the collection, Anthony Vaccarello shakes up the codes of the Parisian house and creates its own silhouette, which gives pride of place to lightness and excess detail, as if not to renounce our carefree yesteryear. The 64 looks came to life in the midst of a hostile natural landscape alongside waterfalls, rocky landscapes and ice floes, to the rhythm of Max Richter‘s Sarajevo, revisited by Sebastian. We got a glimpse of the trends and the pieces that will sketch the trends for next winter, including metallic jersey leotards, retro skirt suits and overly accessorized outfits. Here’s everything you need to remember about this digital show, as hosted by Nathalie Canguilhem.

New costumes

Back to the 60s: Anthony Vaccarello opted for a retro version of the suit for fall / winter 2021-2022 to Saint Laurent. The look out of the ordinary? A tweed suit consisting of a long jacket and a mini skirt, available in several bold colors, with faux fur hems for an unexpected touch.

90s inspiration

Blurring the line between luxurious and old-fashioned details, the Saint Laurent The Fall / Winter 2021-2022 collection is directly inspired by the wardrobe of the rock singer of the 90s, Peaches. Testimony of this are Vaccarello, for example, jewelry-like pieces and bold color combinations.

Pop palette

VaccarelloColor choices jumped onto the harsh landscape of her 64-look runway. Most notably, there were baby blue, fuchsia pink, almond green, sun yellow and iridescent tones that offset the few black and white looks that made up the Saint Laurent Fall / winter 2021-2022 wardrobe.

legs in the air

This season, Vaccarello has raised hems for a more revealing and alluring stride, with tweed shorts, fluffy mini skirts and cropped shorts. The ultimate piece? A pair of boots extending to mid-thigh, contrasting with mini leather shorts.

Mania for the body

The metallic jersey bodysuit becomes a fashion statement in its own right in this collection, echoing the cascades of sparkling costume jewelry appearing everywhere. It can be worn as a skirt suit, associated with tweed Bermuda shorts, or worn alone.
